Natural Gas Market Updates

March 10, 2026 – Market Update

A warm sunny afternoon in Toronto, turning into a bit of sad grey day. On the natural gas front, the NYMEX 12-month forward curve is down 0.25 $USD/MMBtu. WTI has dropped from yesterday’s close of $94.77 to $84.45 as of 2:50 pm. A warmer forecast is also weighing on the market, with the average Lower 48 6–10-day temperature outlook rising to its warmest level since early winter. Canada’s net exports are up slightly (3484 MMcf/d); however quite down from the early-March high of 6,413 MMcf/d. Offsetting some of that softness, LNG Canada volumes increased by 151 MMcf/d to 2,046 MMcf/d and continue to show strong export demand into Asian markets. (JM)
