A pretty quiet, warm Tuesday in Toronto. Canadian temperatures have warmed back up and are set to stay just above normal for the next couple weeks. NYMEX gas futures remained flat, only rising by a couple pennies by the day’s close.
Some interesting news out of Alberta though. The NGTL, a pipeline network that connects Alberta’s production to the Canadian Mainline, has a pipeline and compressor station undergoing scheduled maintenance, starting today and ending in a couple weeks. The result is that less gas will be able to be injected into storage, and the oversupply should bring AECO prices down quite a bit. As in, near zero dollars or even below. This will not last though, producers will work quickly to reduce their output and balance the market.

Likely to keep warming up above normal in the near future.
