Another wild day to close out the week, and month. NYMEX March 2026 is currently trading at $4.17 US/mm, up 26 cents from yesterday’s settle, with the 12-month strip also being up by about 4% on average.

Although Canadian temperatures should climb back to the 10-year normal over the weekend and remain there for a few days, the break will not last too long. Forecasts for next weekend are revising cooler. Meteorologists warn that February could be a lot like January: variable temperatures, risk of sudden cold, and a difficulty in predicting the cold in the mid-to-near term. Additionally the Northeast could experience another round of cold arctic air sometime in early February.

In other words, we should be prepared for the demand for Dawn gas to not let up quite yet.
