Natural Gas Market Updates

February 19, 2026 – Market Update

The lower 48 states withdrew -144 Bcf from storage this past reporting week, only a couple Bcf less than experts forecasted. The market did not move much in response, NYMEX futures drifted off some and settled within a penny or two across the curve.

Average production in the US remains strong, and continues to slowly increase each day, nearing the record highs previously set in December 2026 before the cold snap in January. LNG feed gas flows (both in the US and LNG Canada) are also pushing near record highs now that residential and commercial heating demand has eased.
