Natural Gas Market Updates

April 6th, 2026 – Market Update

Grey skies in Toronto, but not much movement in gas. The 12-month NYMEX and Dawn curves were both essentially flat, while WTI continued higher, up $0.94 USD/bbl to $112.48. Ontario flows improved a bit on the day, but that did not change the local read, as Dawn remained soft with refill continuing to build. Trans Canada Pipeline was again delivering gas into Union, while Dawn storage increased 3 PJ from 64 to 67 and Tecumseh added 1 PJ from 26 to 27 over the last two weeks. Even with maintenance still hanging over the import stack, weaker seasonal demand is keeping the market loose and preventing any real tightening from showing up locally. (JM)
