Natural Gas Market Updates

April 7, 2026 – Market Update

A sunny Tuesday in Toronto, and the energy market stayed soft. The 12-month NYMEX strip rose $0.05 USD/MMBtu, Dawn added $0.07 CAD/GJ, and WTI was up $0.67/bbl to $113.08. In Ontario, net imports fell another 710 MMcf/d to 1,309 MMcf/d as St. Clair and NEXUS remained pressured by maintenance, while Trans Canada Pipeline kept delivering into Union and Dawn balances loosened further with injections building. On the broader Canadian side, production held steady, exports to the U.S. jumped sharply, and LNG Canada continued to recover. (JM)
