Natural Gas Market Updates

April 14, 2026 – Market Update

WTI led the move lower today, falling $4.92 to $91.65 USD/bbl as optimism around renewed U.S.-Iran negotiations took some geopolitical premium out of the market. NYMEX dropped $0.05 USD/MMBtu, while Dawn eased about $0.02 CAD/GJ. Canadian production fell to a monthly low, led by Alberta, but that was outweighed by weaker shoulder-season demand, especially in Ontario where warmer weather continues to reduce heating load. NEXUS maintenance also continued to restrict export capacity, keeping the Ontario corridor looser than it otherwise would be. (JM)
