A sunny day in Toronto and a rather weak day for energy markets. The NYMEX 12-month forward curve fell $0.165 USD/MMBtu, Dawn 12-month forward curve dropped $0.20 CAD/GJ. A big part of the pressure on gas looks to be weather-driven, with forecasts shifting sharply warmer across Canada and the U.S. Midwest/Northeast. In Ontario, early April temperatures are now expected around 7 to 11°C, which should take some heating demand out of the market. WTI was hit hard as well, down $10.10 to $88.13 USD/bbl. Sentiment softened after Trump said he would postpone his threatened military strikes against Iranian power plants for at least five days. (JM)
