Natural Gas Market Updates

March 24, 2025 – Market Update

Welcome back. It’s been a sluggish day, both in the weather and the market. NYMEX Futures drifted off a few cents, but not much action overall.

Canadian temperatures are expected to hover around normal over the next 11-15 days, then break above normal for the first weekend of April. The US is looking warmer than normal in the coming days too. NOAA’s overall April Outlook is looking quite mild, and meteorologists agree that the risk of blocking is low. We are almost out of the woods.

Output in the lower 48 continues to hit record highs, LSEG is reporting that March is averaging 106 Bcf/d. However, this production is being offset by demand of LNG-feed gas. March is averaging 15.8 Bcf/d of demand, also a record high. Production will have to push higher to influence NYMEX prices.
